EMRC -Sagar is one of the vibrant and prestigious centre among 22 Media Centres in the country and is established in Dr. Harisingh Gour University by the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on 31st Jan.1994 among UGC, New Delhi; Consortium of Educational Communication (CEC), New Delhi and Dr. Harisingh Gour University, Sagar (M.P.) Though this Media Centre is like any other department of this University but owing to its different kind of job-description, it is constituted as an Academic, Non-vacation department with administrative, academic, financial and budgetary autonomy in its functioning.
This centre is involved in the production of Educational Television programmes for telecast in National TV channels such as 24x7 Viyas Higher Education TV channel, DD1, DD- Bharti, Ghyan Darshan and other National & Regional channels for the benefit of universities, colleges and other academic & training institutions of the country and abroad.
Situated on the scenic hill of University, EMRC-Sagar has a Studio Complex and an Administrative block. This centre is equipped with professional equipments of broadcast quality and has equipments needed for Satellite Interactive Terminal (SIT) EDUSAT network with two ways Audio-Video Conferencing. The process of procuring latest video equipments and modernization work of studio is in progress.

EMRC-SAGAR, earlier known as AVRC, started producing educational documentaries in 1996. Utilizing the best academic resources of the university, this centre has been involved in the production of numerous educational short films/ documentaries, e-contents and video lectures. Mainly this centre has been assigned calendar year basis target of programme production.
EMRC Sagar programmes serve to upgrade, update and enrich the quality of education. So far, EMRC Sagar has produced over 803 educational T.V. programs in the field of Botany, Geology, Forensic Science, Sanskrit, Environmental Science, Sociology, Performing Arts, Yogic Science, Fine Art, History, Hindi Literature, English Literature Information technology etc.

During the past years EMRC Sagar has won more than 15 awards on national level and its documentary films namely Melody out of Tune (2004) and Nai Kavita (2005) were nominated in the International environment film festival, Toronto Canada and International poetry film festival, Berlin, Germany.
Personnel: EMMRC (FormerlyAVRC) Sagar has a core-group specializing in various disciplines of television production. In addition to above core-group personnel’s it can procure/hire services of experts, artists, technician from outside depending upon the requirement of production.
