Department   

The Department of Communication & Journalism was established in1983. It is the prestigious department of Dr. Harisingh Gour University, Sagar. Since its inception the department is maintaining its sustainable growth. The alumni of the department are working in various International, National and Regional repute Mass Media Institutions and other Govt. and Private Agencies.

Courses     

The department is conducting following courses.

Bachelor of Journalism (One Year Course)  B.J.C

Master of Journalism (Two Year Course)    M.J.C.

PhD. (Full Time) Proposed

Bachelor of Journalism (One Year Course)

   The Bachelor of Journalism (BJC) course is the one year full time course. This is divided into two                   semesters and each semester carry four papers. Each paper has four credits and total credit of the course is 32.

Intake  :- 20 (Twenty), Reservation in Admission :- As per Norms of the Govt. of India

Minimum Qualification for Admission Candidate must possess Bachelor/Graduation Degree (10+2+3)   in any discipline with 50% for General /OBC Categories and 45% for SC/ST Categories.

Selection :- Through Entrance Test.

 Master of Journalism (Two Year Course)

            The Master of Journalism (MJC) course is the two year full time course. The whole course is divided into four semesters. Total credits of the course are 72.

Intake:- 20 (Twenty), Reservation in Admission :- As per Norms of the Govt. of India

Minimum Qualification for Admission

 Candidate must possess Graduation Degree (10+2+3) in any discipline with 50% for General /OBC Categories and 45% for SC/ST Categories.

Selection: - Through Entrance Test.

PhD. (Full Time)  Proposed

Master’s Degree passed in Mass Communication& Journalism or equivalent with 55% for General / OBC Categories and 50% for SC/ST Categories

Selection Procedure: - Entrance Test. Those who have qualified UGC-JRF-NET Exam are exempted from Entrance Test; however they produced their synopsis at the time of Personal Interview.
